The PROMOTioN project invites all interested stakeholders to save the date for the final project conference on 26 and 27 May 2020 in Brussels. The conference programme will focus on the key project results and implications and feature high-level representatives and experts from research, industry and the public sector.

The Horizon 2020 project PROMOTioN (PROgress on Meshed HVDC Offshore Transmission Networks) will host its final conference in Brussels, on May 26/27, titled

North Sea Grid for the European Green Deal

How to unlock Europe's Offshore Wind potential - a deployment plan for a meshed HVDC grid

 

The 2-day conference will take place at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium, in the immediate vicinity of the Brussels Central Train Station.

It will feature

  • High-level key note speakers from the European Commission and member states
  • Lively panel discussions with experts from the offshore wind, transmission and HVDC technology sector
  • Final findings and observations on technology, regulation & economics and system planning
  • A deployment plan for the HVDC grid starting from today until 2050
  • Technical and non-technical break-out sessions.

Confirmed speakers include Ditte Juul Jørgensen (Director-General Energy, European Commission), Martin Neubert (CEO Ørsted Offshore Wind), Huub den Rooijen (Director of Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure at the Crown Estate) and Tim Meyerjürgens (COO TenneT B.V.).
