In this context, complete system-level models for three DC circuit breaker technologies have been developed by manufacturing partners within the PROMOTioN project: a hybrid DC CB by ABB, a hybrid DC CB by GE and a mechanical DC CB with active current injection by Mitsubishi Electric Europe.

The developed models will form the basis for further work in the project. In Work Package 4, they will be used for developing protection systems for wider DC grids, and in Work Package 5, for developing full-scale test circuits for DC CBs at the DNV-GL laboratory.
